Surf Reports: Pavones, Costa Rica – April 24, 2017

Costa Rica Surf Report: 3ft  Waist high waves with poor to fair shape. Pavones, Costa Rica – The swell dropped some this morning, and the low tide was making it super fast and difficult to make sections.  The incoming tide helped, but it was still not able to make it around the corner without shutting down.  Still, it's nice to have waves. Costa Rica Tides: We had a morning low tide of 0.61ft @ 6:45am, pushing up to a high tide of 8.71ft @ 1:07pm, before dropping back down to a low tide of 0.15ft...

Costa Rica Surf Report: 3-4ft  Waist to chest high waves with fair to good shape. Pavones, Costa Rica – Waves looked good today.  The top of the point was best with long, fast, peeling into the river mouth section.  Wind conditions were good all day, and the crowd was light.  Hopefully this continues. Pavones, Costa Rica – The surf picked up a bit this morning with some good sized sets rolling through the line-up.  The crowds sucked!  But, there was plenty of waves to go around.  The wind was light and glassy coming from the northwest for most of the morning, and the conditions stayed mostly calm until the mid afternoon. Surf Reports: Pavones, Costa Rica – April 20, 2017

Costa Rica Surf Report: 1-2ft  Knee to waist high waves with poor shape. Pavones, Costa Rica – The surf was junk this morning.  A big storm passed through last night making a mess of things early.  Bay winds were wrecking havoc on otherwise dismal waves.  Hopefully, things clean up soon. Please Note: Due to a computer malfunction we were unable to produce the Pavones surf report for April 17 - 19.  The issue has been resolved and we will resume our daily surf reports. Costa Rica Tides: We had a morning high tide of 6.78ft @ 9:26am, dropping...

Costa Rica Surf Report: 2-3ft  Waist to chest high waves with poor to fair shape. Pavones, Costa Rica – The surf picked up a little this morning, but the tide was still a bit high at daybreak.  Now that the tide is beginning to drop out, the swell is starting to feel the bottom more, and begin breaking around the corner on the sets.  Wind was light and glassy this morning. Surf Reports: Pavones, Costa Rica – April 15, 2017

Costa Rica Surf Report: 1-2ft  Knee to waist high waves with mostly poor shape. Pavones, Costa Rica – It was pretty much flat today at the point.  Still, it was super good for surf lessons, calm, easy to handle waves, with just enough force to propel beginners on a big foamy.  Should be more surf coming soon. Costa Rica Tides: We had an early morning high tide of 8.17ft @ 5:28am, dropping down to a low tide of 0.65ft @ 11:23am, then moving back up to a high tide of 8.50ft @ 5:40pm this evening. Costa...

Surf Reports: Pavones, Costa Rica – April 14, 2017

Costa Rica Surf Report: 2ft  Waist high waves with mostly poor shape. Pavones, Costa Rica – Small Semana Santa surf combined with the requisite crowds, made for a rather uninviting surf session this morning despite favorable wind conditions.  We should be getting a bit more swell over the weekend, hopefully, this will spread out the crowds. Costa Rica Tides: We had an early morning high tide of 8.44ft @ 4:51am, dropping down to a low tide of 0.35ft @ 10:46am, then moving back up to a high tide of 8.82ft @ 5:03pm this evening. Surf Reports: Pavones, Costa Rica – April 12, 2017

Costa Rica Surf Report: 2ft  Waist high waves with mostly poor shape. Pavones, Costa Rica – The surf was small again this morning but the early high tides made it surfable for an hour or so after daybreak.  Beyond that, the quickly dropping tide and lack of significant swell made it more or less a waste of time going surfing today. Costa Rica Tides: We had an early morning high tide of 8.65ft @ 3:36am, dropping down to a low tide of 0.05ft @ 9:36am, moving back up to a high tide of 9.14ft @...
