Surf Report

There is still some south swell in the water this morning, with mostly chest to head high waves in Pavones and the occasional bigger sets coming through.

When I went to the point to take the surf report photos, the tide was bottoming out at low tide. Light and variable winds were creating choppy conditions. Combined with the extremely low tide, this made for less-than-ideal surfing.

A rainstorm moved in quickly while I was taking photos, abruptly ending my session. As the storm arrived, the wind appeared to be shifting in a more promising direction. Conditions could improve as the storm passes.

Weather

It’s another beautiful day here in Pavones, Costa Rica. The morning was cool and cloudy, with rain threatening. Around 9:00 AM, a storm arrived quickly and brought heavy rainfall.

Winds had been light and variable throughout the morning, but as the storm moved in, I could see the waves beginning to glass off while I was running for shelter. As I write this report, the rain is coming down hard.
