Costa Rica Surf Report for Pavones, Costa Rica

Pavones Surf Report Video

Pavones Surf Report:

The surf looked small, and the tide was already really low when I first checked it.  A heavy rainstorm started around 7:30am, making it a wait and see situation.  The conditions were really clean and glassy when I looked, but this storm could bring some winds with it.   Hopefully, it remains glassy for the incoming tides.  Update: it didn’t remain glassy, but the short period windswell waves were peaky, fast and funky, but a whole lot of fun if you could lock into the right one.  Henry and I paddled out alone, scoring a couple nuggets to ourselves before it shut down.

Costa Rica Tides:

9.55ft High Tide @ 2:19am

1.05ft Low Tide @ 8:37am

9.09ft High Tide @ 2:47pm

1.64ft Low Tide @ 8:46pm

Costa Rica Weather:

It’s another beautiful rainy season day here in Pavones, Costa Rica.  It was stormy and raining all morning. The fternoon was cloudy, but mostly rain free.  The winds were calm and glassy early, turning to light onshore winds by noon, which continued building throughout the day.  There is a good chance of more rain showers later tonight.
