The adventure begins at La Pescadería
An early-morning departure begins with a tractor-assisted panga launch at La Pescadería. The crossing of Golfo Dulce takes approximately 45 minutes, with timing shaped by the conditions.
Keep an eye on the water along the way. Dolphins, turtles and seasonal whales may be encountered, but wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.

Pan Dulce, Backwash and Matapalo provide the right-hand surfing focus of the trip. Where you surf depends on the conditions, your ability and what feels comfortable for you.
Backwash is generally favorable on lower tides. Your surf guide can help you consider the available options and choose where to surf as conditions change.

Surfing is the main purpose, but the journey can also leave room for coastline exploration and wildlife encounters. Trolling or fishing may be possible, and waterfall excursions can sometimes be arranged when conditions allow.

Trips generally involve an early departure and afternoon return, with flexible timing rather than a fixed itinerary. We can help arrange a trip for guests staying at Una Ola and for visitors staying elsewhere.
The captain anchors outside the surf. Reaching the waves or shore may involve paddling or swimming, and swimming ability is needed for shore visits. Tell us about your surfing experience and comfort in the water so we can discuss suitable arrangements.
